A wood privacy fence is one of the best ways to finish a backyard, and one of the easiest jobs to rush. When a fence leans or waves after a few years, the posts are almost always the cause.
Posts need to go deep and be set in concrete, with the concrete shaped to shed water away from the wood. Georgia clay holds moisture, and posts sitting in wet ground rot and shift.
The line matters as much as the posts. We run a tight string line and check every post for plumb before the concrete sets. On sloped yards, we decide with you whether to step the fence or follow the grade.
Gates are where cheap fences fail first. A gate needs a solid frame and proper hinges, and it needs to be hung square so it doesn't sag.
If you're also installing artificial turf, doing both together makes for a cleaner finish. We set the fence first, then run the turf tight to the fence line with no gaps or strips of dirt.
